Carnival of Suburbia Carnival of Suburbia features ten days of live music,
from 8th-18th March, at the
Caravan Music Club, (Oakleigh RSL) and the
Oakleigh Bowling Club, both located in Drummond Street. Emerging out of the so-called cultural "wastelands" of the south last year, Carnival of Suburbia rose like a flower in the desert to firmly establish itself as an iconic annual event celebrating Melbourne's suburban soul and culture. The world class program of events includes local country outlaws Wagons, the Melbourne premiere of
Jane Clifton's "Anywhere I Hang My Hat Is Home", the return of both
JVG's "Stopping All Stations Except East Richmond" and the
"Big Gospel Breakfast", triple ARIA award winners
The Audreys, legend of the New York folk scene
Judy Collins, and two of the most revered figures in American roots music
